Obidient Movement Elders and Leaders Council in Delta state at the weekend said Nigerians would be Obedient to take over the country in 2027.
The Chairman of the Council, Mr. Chris Biose stated this in Asaba, while briefing journalists on the recent defection of Governor Sherrif Oborevwori and other stakeholders to All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, “Obidients in Delta state are not bothered one bit about fusion of PDP into APC in the state, because they are disconnected from the electorate and cannot win a free and fair election in the state”
“Nigerian youths constitute the moving force of the Obidient movement, but when there are serious challenges to the community or the state, the elders are duty bound to speak out or take action.
“There are numerous issues of effectiveness and transparency of governance which are being covered up. For example, here is an oil rich state where such a basic social amenity as portable water is inexistent. The stream are polluted with waste.”
However, he said that the worry of Delta Obidient was the security implication of handing over Deltans to APC.
“Obidient movement constitute a category of Nigerians from all walks of life, both at home and in Diaspora who strongly abhor injustice, man inhumanity to man, religious bigotry, grand corruption and are resolute in fighting these debilitating vices that beset the Nigerians.
“We call on men of integrity in APC and PDP who are unable to put up in good conscience with the shenanigans of their parties to join the Obidient to rescue Nigeria.
