33 bag First Class from Enugu Coal City varsity 

Five hundred and two students of the Coal City University, Enugu (CCU), a privately owned university, will on Saturday, December 2, at a combined convocation ceremony, present degree certificates to 502 graduands.

The combined convocation ceremony is for graduates of the school for four academic sessions spanning 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023, respectively.

Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Afam Icha Ituma, disclosed this at a pre- convocation press conference held at the school on Tuesday.

According to Prof. Ituma, 33 out of the 502 graduands made First Class; 209  Second Class Upper Division while 234 made Second Class Lower Division with 26 Third Class.

The vice chancellor also disclosed that during the convocation, five distinguished Nigerians will be conferred with honorary doctorate degrees.

Among the distinguished Nigerians to receive the honorary doctorate degrees include the governor of Ebonyi state, Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, who would be conferred with Doctor of Public Administration for his exemplary conduct and extraordinary leadership in Ebonyi state.

Other awardees include wife of Chief Jim Nwobodo, a former governor of Old Anambra state, Mrs. Patricia Nwobodo, Founder Rowet Group Nigeria, a holding company with interest in financial services, technology and communication who would be conferred with Doctor of Banking and Finance and Engr. Kingsley Eze, CEO Tenece Professional Services, Enugu, an ICT company, who will be awarded the Doctor of Computer Sciences while Sir Ikenna Okafor of Keves Global Leasing Ltd based in Port Harcourt will get Doctor of Business Administration as well as Mr. Jude Adani, CEO OJA Group of Companies.

The convocation will be preceded on Friday by an alumni dinner lecture titled, “Imagine: Create Your Future,” which will be delivered by a former Minister of Information, Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr.
