22 teams battle for President Beach Volleyball Cup


As the 2020 President Beach Volleyball Senior Male/Female and U-19 Girls Cup serves pff Thursday at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna 22 beach volleyball teams from across Nigeria will be in contention.
According to the Chairman Nigeria Volleyball Referees Association, Timothy Samuel, the teams will be competing for honours in the event billed to end on February 23, with no fewer than 12 matches billed for play on day one such n the U-19 category.


“Senior category matches  will  begin on Friday. Sixteen male and 6 female teams have so far registered in the U-19 category, while 15 male and seven female teams have registered in the senior category.
“The teams are; Msazam Club, Nike University,  Zenith Spikers, Gallant Spikers, Plateau Rock’s and  Offa Spikers. Others are Team FCT, Borno Elkanemi Spikers, Team Borno, Team Adamawa, Team Katsina and Samba Boys Sokoto.


“Team Kogi, Swords of Benue, Benue Kings, Team Rivers, UAM and Kada are also featuring.”
Top Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) board members were spotted at the opening ceremony, including its President, Engineer Musa Nimrod, and Technical Director, Martins Melandi, all busy to ensure a hitch-free tourney.
