2023 presidency: APC chieftain warns Nigerians against entrusting power to Atiku

A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Chief Segun Ajibulu, has warned the Nigerian electorate against voting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),Atiku Abubakar.

He said it would be dangerous for them to cast their ‘precious votes’ for Atiku who alleged had remained insensitive to current hardship being experienced by Nigerians.

Ajibulu, who is also the leader of the Southwest professionals, said the refusal of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to support the extension of the deadline given by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for Naira swap has vindicated the APC’s standard bearer’ s position, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The APC stalwart said: “If he (Atiku Abubakar) could be so insensitive to the draconian policy of the CBN, even when it had brought the economy to its kneels, it would be dangerous for Nigerians to entrust him with power.”

Speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti state capital on Sunday, Ajibulu said it was rather unfortunate that Atiku, who was desirous of leading the country could be so ‘wicked and insensitive’ to the plights of the poor masses.

Recall that the APC presidential  candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at a rally in Abeokuta,Ogun state capital, alleged that the current scarcity of fuel and currency notes were orchestrated  by some cabals to punish Nigerians with a view to scoring cheap political points.

About the poor defense from Atiku, the APC chieftain, said Nigerians were no longer in doubt as to know the identities of those who put them in the current economic hardship.

Chief Ajibulu, therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari to prevail on the CBN governor to extend the deadline to at least six months in order to end the needless agonies of Nigerians.

Ajibulu, who is the coordinator of Tinubu Campaign groups in Ekiti also commended the APC governors for their prompt and sincere intervention on the matter by demanding further extension of the swap deadline at their meeting with President Buhari.

“Only a clear enemy of the masses would oppose the extension of the deadline in this precarious situation. Atiku’s  position shows he is not in tune with current realities, even when critical stakeholders in the North and South have expressed their reservations on the policy and  poor style of implementation,” Ajibulu said.

The APC stalwart also demanded a comprehensive publication of the records of the new notes in circulation and its disbursement.

“Again, the PDP and indeed its  Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar have shown their colour by supporting anti-people policy of the CBN.

“The opposition of the former Vice President, Atiku to deadline for the naira swap is not only wicked but condemnable and insensitive. It shows the PDP is working in cahoots with the CBN to inflict more pains on Nigerians.”
