2021 HAJJ: FCT MPWB ends COVID- 19 vaccination exercise

The Federal Capital Territory Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (FCT MPWB) has concluded first round of vaccination COVID-19 exercise for its 2021 intending pilgrims.

A statement from the board said that 90 percent of those who made deposit to partake in the religious journey to Saudi Arabia through the FCT have successfully taken the first dose of the vaccine in preparation for the hajj this year.
The exercise which commenced Friday, 26th March, 2021 has covered intending pilgrims from the six area councils of the territory and those who registered at the head office of the board.
The statement further stated that the board was impressed with the turnout of the intending pilgrims to the exercise which lasted for 10 days to comply with the requirements for this year’s hajj.

It advised those who missed the opportunity to seek for the dose at any of the Primary Health Care facility, get vaccinated and forward evidence to the officials of the board for documentation.

The statement reminded the intending pilgrims to note that the inoculation is an obligation that needed to be fulfilled to meet up with traveling requirements to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj.

It similarly assured Intending pilgrims that the Board is working hard to make all necessary arrangements for the religious exercise while waiting for further directives on the 2021 hajj from relevant authorities.
