A group under the auspices of Goodnews Nigeria (GNN) has called on former military administrator of Kaduna state, Col Abubakar Dangiwa Umar, to yield to calls by his admirers and vie for president come 2019.
Although the group was not specific under which political party he should contest, it described Dangiwa as a man of sound morals, adding that “he is one person who has all it takes to take Nigeria and Nigerians out of its present quagmire and challenges.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Kaduna, the national coordinator, Engr. Dauda J. Mbaya said the retired military officer is known for his uprightness in all his endeavours.
“Good-News Nigeria is encouraging all citizens to boldly stand up for their beliefs about what’s best for our nation and to lay the best foundation necessary for the future, a United Nigeria.
“So let’s get it right, shifting Nigeria back on course requires an incorruptible personality as the Nigerian nominee devoid of political party or religious ideology.
GNN further said Dangiwa’s “social muscle is waxing stronger, his fellowship increasing and his consciousness expanding. People see Dangiwa as that key element in the struggle for social independence of his people,” and called on Nigerians to rally behind him ahead of the 2019 general elections.
