At least 18 passengers have been confirmed killed in a ghastly motor accident close to Alu Farm in Birnin Kudu local government area of Jigawa state.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Jigawa state Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Lawan Shisu Adam.
He said the accident which happened on the Kano/ Birnin Kudu road involved two Hummer busses which had head-to-head collision, resulting to the death of 18 passengers.
“As the result of the outbreak of fire between the two vehicles, 12 people were burnt to ashes, and can’t be identified. And mass burial had been conducted for those burnt,” he said.
According to him, six corpses of the victims who died instantly have been deposited at the Federal Medical Center’s morgue in Birnin Kudu.
“One driver who sustained a fracture on his leg survived the accident and is now responding to treatment at the Federal Medical Centre Birnin Kudu,” he stated.
