18 additional corpses recovered from Ebonyi accident

22 bodies have been recovered from the accident that occurred at Akaeze Ukwu bridge,Ivo local government of Ebonyi state.

Out of the 22 bodies found, four are still alive while the other 18 are confirmed dead.

Blueprint reported that a 608 coaster bus with registration UKP 78 XA fell inside a river on Friday night. The bus was said to be going back to Enugu state from Nguzu Edda where they attended a burial.

An update made available to the press by the spokesperson of Ebonyi police command, DSP Loveth Odah said that among those dead was a retired police Officer, CSP Livinus Mbah.

She that the driver of the bus Mr Nwaonu Chinedu, a native of Ikwo LGA is among those alive but are in the hospital.

“Three (3) more corpses have been recovered among them is lifeless body of CSP Livinus Mbah Rtd, making a totally number of twenty two (22) victims.

“The corpses have been deposited at Martha Memorial Hospital Afikpo for preservation. Effort is on to recover the remaining Ten (10) persons”.
