Probe Okorocha once you assume office, party Chair tells Ihedioha

Chairman of New APGA, Dr Chima Nwosu, has given reasons why the out-going governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha should be probed by his successor Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha.

Speaking to Blueprint correspondent, Dr Nwosu said Okorocha destroyed the legislature and civil service and put then into his private pocket and put the legislature in limbo as throughout his tenure as governor.

He stated that there were no vibrant debates or arguments from members in the Assembly because the legislature was cowed and compromised.

He also remembered those who died as a result of shops that were demolished and those who suffered under him as well as those that had failed businesses as a result of his failed Urban Renewal Programme.

“In fact, I want Rochas to be probed in all facets of Imo life. How would he withdraw money and carry government machines and vehicles to his village?

“Does he think we don’t have records? Why has the EFCC not probed Uche Nwosu since he stopped being Chief of Staff and started running for governorship? Uche does not have immunity. The governor had the heart to slash salaries and pensions of Imo people and then had the effrontery  to waste money for his in-law’s election. We must justify the corruption war and not when you are in APC, you are forgiven,” he said.

Dr Nwosu who said his group played a major role in mobilising and voting for Ihedioha when they left APGA, advised him to address Okorocha’s issues to the satisfaction of Imo people by setting up a judicial commission of enquiry to enable people know what transpired during his eight-year administration with a view to recovering all that belonged to the government and people of the state.

He stated that the state finances and assets have to be reviewed to the satisfaction of Imo people.

N-APGA is a group that broke away from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Imo State chapter after rejecting the governorship primary which produced Senator Ifeanyi Araraume as the candidate of the party before the just concluded governorship election in the state.
