Zulum to award N5bn Maiduguri township road dualisation contract

Borno state government is to award the contract for the dualisation of a 10- kilometre Customs Roundabout – Muna Garsge on the  Maiduguri-Gamboru road within Maiduguri metropolis.
Governor Zulum said the dualisation of the road will cost the government the sum of N5 billion.

He stated while commissioning the newly constructed Moromoro road and Bridge in Maiduguri, Monday after inaugurating mega community schools, that the dualisation of the commercial route along Maiduguri-Mafa-Dikwa axis will begin in the next 15 days.

The road will connect to Borno’s first flyover which is being constructed by a Chinese firm around the Customs roundabout that had been congested for many years.

Early this year, the governor approved the construction of first overhead bridge in the North-east at the Customs area at the cost of over N4.5 billion.
The dualisation of the road when completed will ease traffic along the busy Maiduguri-Gamboru international route.
