Youth council chair lauds Ishaku for recruiting 10,000

The chairman, Taraba state Youth Council, Comrade Hikon A. Uten, Monday commanded Governor Darius Ishaku, for employing over 10, 000 youth into the state civil service.

Uten, who stated this in Jalingo during a one day summit on peace and security, said youth restiveness and unemployment has been the major cause of high rate of crime in the country.

He added that employment of more youth in the state civil service by the administration of Governor Ishaku has helped to curb the menace of violence among youths in the state.

“As a youth, I want to say this without mincing words, the administration of Governor Ishaku since assumption of office seven years ago has empowered and employed more youth.

“Last year, he lifted embargo on employment which pave way for youth to be recruited into the state Broadcasting Service (TSBS), Taraba Television, Ministry of Water resources, Board of Internal Revenue, Taraba University, State Polytechnic, Specialist Hospital, College of Nursing and Midwifery and also the employment of over three thousand rescue teachers.

“He equally opened room for training of youth within and outside the country on various skills and many others. And we must not also forget the appointment of youth into his cabinet,” he said.
