Contrary to the report emanating from certain sections of the media, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has decided to adopt Kigali Stadium in Rwanda as their home ground for the 2026 World Cup qualifier.
Since the release of the draws, some unconfirmed sources have suggested that Zimbabwe will play their home game in South Africa after their home ground in Harare failed to get CAF approval.
But the interim committee in charge of football in Zimbabwe has reached an agreement with the Rwanda Football Association to host its home game in the qualifier in Kigali.
The football body further confirmed that Zimbabwe will stay in Kigali to face Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the match day 2 of the qualifier after they might have played Rwanda in the opening group game.
