A high-flyer administrative executive and a business woman, has discovered that she is five months pregnant after an abortion to evacuate the pregnancy.
The 28-year-old woman, named Florence, said she became pregnant after a condom used during a sexual intercourse with her boyfriend in February, had torn apart.
She disclosed that after realising that was not free, she went to a nearby pharmacy to wash-off the remnant of the semen, but to her surprise, almost a month later, she discovered that the pill did not worked and she was pregnant.
Florence, who based in Suleja, worked with a firm in FCT, then went for a surgical abortion, but was mortified to find out that she was still pregnant four months after.
Florence said: “It was just a dreadful set of circumstances.
“We were being careful and using protective, but we all know that sometimes condoms split.
“I took the morning after pill. That quite clearly didn’t work, so I had to have a surgical abortion instead.
“I had no idea it was possible to still be pregnant after having an abortion.”
Florence had Mirena coil fitted, on January 24, but two-and-a-half months later, she went to her doctor complaining about stomach pains.
She said: “I went to the doctor because I thought the coil may be the cause of my discomfort and pain.
The doctor had to perform an internal examination because she couldn’t find the thread of the coil.
“It hit me like a bomb when the doctor asked if I knew I was five months pregnant.
