Sources have claimed that one of the suspects, Mr Silas Onyima, who killed the President General of Umuoji community in Idemili North Local Government Area (LGA), Anambra state, was a tenant the deceased issued with a quit notice some days earlier.

Onyima, it would be recalled, was murdered and dumped in his bathtub with broken limbs and arm last week Friday.

The suspect, said to be an Ebonyi man, has equally been arrested alongside others by the security who found under their custody the deceased phones, ATM cards, gun and other items they were allegedly using to withdraw money from the deceased account.

“The suspected killer was a son of the care giver of Chief Silas Onyima’s late mother who was accommodated in the deceased compound. Onyima gave him quit notice to vacate his premises because of his alleged links with diabolism. Onyima even complained to his wife and some of his friends about threats he received from the suspect,” a source stated.

But when contacted, the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, only confirmed the arrest of four suspects in connection with the alleged murder, adding that the operatives equally recovered handset and ATM card of the deceased under their possession.
