Unknown gunmen kill DPO, 2 sergeants, set police station ablaze in Delta


Unknown gunmen Sunday set a divisional police headquarters in Nsukwa community in Aniocha south local government area of Delta state ablaze.


The divisional police officer (DPO) and two sergeants who are the main casualties were allegedly killed and set ablaze by the gunmen.


It was gathered that the attackers stormed the station at about 2am on Sunday  shooting sporadically to ward off any challengers.


Residents of the community confirmed that it was the intense shooting that woke them up from sleep. They rented the air with bullets for several hours.


” Everybody was afraid following the shooting, it was later we heard that the police station was attacked”, a resident in the agrerian community said.


All efforts to get the reaction of the state police command, proved abortive as several calls put to the state police boss, Ari Mohammed Ali and the police  public relations officer, DSP Bright Edafe were not responded to as at the time of filling this report.
