Troops naeutralise 20 bandits in Zamfara

Troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army in the ongoing Operation IDON RAINI Corridor IIhave neutralised 20 bandits during a raid on bandits’ hideouts in the general area of Jambrini Village in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Mohammed Dole said three bandits were also arrested while some escaped with gunshot wounds during the operation.
He also said troops destroyed sevral camps belonging to the bandits.
Dole said items recovered from the bandits includes: four AK 47 rifles, one F 99 – Pistol, one PTT HH Motorola Handset, 111 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition, five AK 47 rifle magazines, two Dane guns, three mobile phones, and one power bank.
He said the troops “remain determined and committed to frustrating banditry activities in the area of operation.” “This feat was achieved through reliable information provided by some well meaning residents of the area.
The public is urged to share credible information with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies,” he said.
In another operation, troops of 20 Battalion have arrested three bandits suspected to be responsible for the burning of a Fulani settlement and looting at Kpanikwa village in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Texas Chukwu disclosed this in a statement that the arrest was made during the troops fighting patrol to Dem village, which is ahead of Mayolope village.
He said items recovered include: a teargas canister, two dane guns, 12 knives, 10 bows and six rolls of arrow, 12 machetes, and two catapults.
Others are; a pick axe, a military belt, two mobile police caps, “assorted” charms, six native caps, and a war flute.
Chukwu said the suspects were undergoing interrogation.
