Former Minister of Communication and a supporter of Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket, Dr. Abdurrahim Adebayo Shittu, has assured that APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu is the right choice for Nigerians and will score more votes than MKO Abiola did in the north during the 1993 election.
Shittu made the gave the assurance in an interview with Journalists shortly after paying a courtesy visit on the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli at his palace in Zaria.
He said the increasing support and loyalty witnessed across all northern states is a clear indication of great success and overwhelming victory to the Bola Tinubu/Shettima candidacy.
The former minister explained that the Tinubu, Shettima coalitiion for good governance coalition has the support of more than one thousand groups and is going round the country on courtesy visit to Emirs and Chiefs for their royal blessings towards the success of the APC presidential victory.
While appreciating the warm reception accorded his team by the Emir, Shittu pointed out that the unflinching support of the northern governors is fully taken into cognizance without which the Tinubu/Shettima ticket may not have been a reality.
Shittu reminded the northern electorate “that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s candidature is not only for the unity, peace and development of the country but it is also for the north to attain greater stability for economic growth.
“I want to reassure the north that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only committed to bringing about unity, peace, stability, progress and development to the nation but it is also for the stability of the north as a whole.
“And i also want assure that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue to be appreciative of the sustained support accorded him all over the north and will complement the gesture when voted into office.
The former Minister who lauded the Emir of Zazzau for his support through prayers to ensure only the best candidate emerged comes 2023 general election, said the APC presidential candidate is doubt the best among all.
Responding, the Emir of Zazzau Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli while thanking the coalition for the visit enjoined them to avoid unguided utterances during their campaigns and urged them to always preach the gospel of playing the game according to the rule for successful transition.
Bamalli cautioned politicians against campaign of calumny, religious sentiments and sectional bias in the interest of harmonious coexistence.
Bamalli who prayed for the best to emerge in the forthcoming election, however, urged electorate to vote wisely on the right candidate of their choice
