A former senator represented Kogi West in the 9th National Assembly, Smart Adeyemi, has said he pities President Bola Ahmed Tinubu because he is carrying a burden that he never even imagined at the onset of his presidential ambition.
Senator Smart Adeyemi however commended President Tinubu for his courage in pushing his policies forward to ensure that there is development in the country.
The former lawmaker, who was speaking to newsmen in Abuja, Tuesday, explained that the last foreign trip made by President Tinubu was commendable because it was designed to attract investment to Nigeria.
Adeyemi said: “I think we must commend the courage of President Tinubu in his efforts to reform the economy and the socio-economic activities of our nation.”
He noted that there could be some misplaced priorities for some inexplicable mismanagement of public funds, adding: “I pity the president because he is carrying a heavy burden that perhaps he never even thought about.”
Senator Adeyemi further observed that, a lot of things were not being done properly (before he took over), and you can see a lot of revelations. So, for President Tinubu to still stand tall to have the courage and be pushing ahead is commendable. The last trip the President made for attracting foreign investment to Nigeria is highly commendable,” he added.
