Stop fueling political crisis in Taraba, PDP youth tell Ishaku

Taraba state PDP youth, Sunday cautioned Governor Darius Ishaku to stop fueling political crisis in state.

Leader of the PDP youth, Mr. Belawani Agywa, said the ongoing allegation that the governor used N200m to sponsor the impeachment of the speaker and other principal officers of the House was wrong and worrisome.

“Since Friday, there have been reports everywhere that Governor Ishaku removed N200 million from the State Primary Education Board to plot the impeachment of the speaker.

“This time when the state needs speedy progress is not a time that the executive and legislative arm of government would go into political war,” he said.

He explained that “what Taraba state needs now is development, not how to sponsor an impeachment of the speaker and other principal officers.

“If you go round the country, you will discover that Taraba state needs speedy development. Taraba is backward, no development and nothing is moving,” he lamented.

But in a switch reaction, governor Darius Ishaku on Sunday denied the ongoing fake news on social media that he committed N200m to sponsor the impeachment of Taraba speaker from office.

The statement noted that the article made spurious claims to the effect that Governor Ishaku was the sponsor of that so-called impeachment plot and that he had committed n200 million public funds was a lie.

The statement maintained that nothing could be more untrue, noting that it is yet another wicked and malicious attempt to cause confusion and conflict in the relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.

The statement noted that Govrnor Ishaku did not and will not sponsor the so-called impeachment move.

The statement said, “the allegations are ridiculous, absolutely false and malicious.”
