Sex for grades: ANFS to launch whistle blowing committee to nab offenders

The Association of Nigeria Female Students (ANFS) has disclosed plans to launch a ‘whistle blowing committee’ across campuses to safeguard female students from being victims of sex for grades, urging them to always speak out when such occurs.

This was contained in the acceptance statement by the President Elect ANFS Comr. Opeyemi Mary Olorungbemi, a student of the Mass Communication Department, Nasarawa State University Keffi.

Olorungbemi applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing into law the student’s loan bill, describing the gesture as a ‘morale booster’ to the Nigerian educational system and the girl child. 

“Mr. President Sir, may I also commend you for the tough decisions taking so far to revert the Nigerian educational sector and economy. We are so far proud of your leadership giant strides and achievements.

She however expressed worry on the hardship caused by the recent hike in tuition for federal institutions, appealing on the President to reversal to status quo so as to avert further hardship on Nigerian students and their parents.

“We believe that a total reversal will help curb the society menace and campus social vices. Also the hike in fuel price nationwide is already causing hardship on Nigerians students especially the female students who are striving to access education and be responsible adults devoid of social vices.

“We shall be launching a whistling blowing committee across campuses to safeguard our girls from being victims of SEX FOR GRADES, we urge them to say something when they see something,” she said.

“I promise to give my utmost best as your newly elected president. Peace, unity and prosperity shall be the cornerstones of the growth and development we intend to build. 

The newly elected President extended hand of fellowship to her fellow candidates, urging them to join the her team to remodel the association for the benefits of all.

“This task requires the harmonious efforts of all of us. Working together, we shall move ANFS forward as never before.

“More importantly, we also understand and deeply value the talent and innate goodness of every female student in various campuses. We pledge to listen and to do the difficult things, the big deeds, that put us on the path of irreversible progress,” she added.
