Sectional interest beginning to give way for national agenda – Former NIA boss

A retired National Intelligents Agency chief, Chief Babatunde Ala, has described the resounding ovation received by the decision of the 50 elders as an indication that it was a wise decision taken by the leadership of the conference.
The NIA chieftain who was visibly impressed by the decision stated that though it was not simple for them, it was remarkable that their decision was acceptable to all the delegates describing it as one of the successes recorded by the conference.

The former NIA boss stated that he was impassioned that divergent views especially on the president’s speech were beginning to give way to national agenda saying that the problems might be multifarious but with the interest of the country being uppermost in their minds Nigeria would be moved forward.
Ala noted that it was worrisome that in the 1960s the country was in the league of the South Korea, Malaysia, India and Singapore pointing out that the Asian countries have left Nigeria far behind.
He said the delegates would re-examine the issues dispassionately and find out what happened to Nigeria, however, expressing the hope that with the work plan of the conference especially at the committee levels, the conference would have a breakthrough in solving the problems.
