Saudi Arabia and the rest of us

We have nothing really against Saudi Arabia as holy mosques have been there over the years and more so, every believer of God, especially Moslems must respect such a sacred institution. I really acknowledge such important sacred places of worship which people of the world (Moslems) are enjoined to visit at least once in his/her lifetime. This is the instruction in the holy Qur’an.

Really, our people, especially from 1900-1990, were eager to do everything possible to get means of visiting the holy lands of Mecca and Medina, the two holy beautiful and pure cities being enjoyed by Moslems all over the world. People in Africa, particularly Nigeria, were there especially during the reign of King of Mecca, Mas’ud. Nigerian from all walks of life trooped to Mecca to pay homage to Medina in order to visit the place where Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is, as this has been the desire of all Moslems, from Medina to Makkatul Mukarramah. This is the best place for human habitation because Ka’aba, the most sacred place every Moslem wishes to visit to satisfy his quest and truly to purify his soul with a view that God Almighty will forgive his sinful deeds; May God forgive our parents and all of us, Ameen.

Our most beloved prophet says that one should do all he could to go to Mecca before the coming generations of rulers who would shut the gateway to such holy land. May God bless our beloved prophet as such saying has come and we see how the generation of rulers now ruling Saudi Arabia harass those who were born there even before their grandparents were born; they were asked to leave Mecca even when many of them did not know where their grandparents hail from!

It is a belief by the Saudi people that every black person is from Nigeria and when arresting them they would bundle them and bring them to Nigeria, regrettably without even their belongings or a Dinar in their pockets! Even in America and the whole of Europe, if someone is born there has special treatment, so why maltreat people in Saudi Arabia even when born and bred there? Is Saudi Arabia segregating people, especially black people when they have the rights to live as human beings? It has been said that the Saudi Arabia administers Islamic injunction which by all indications is satisfactory especially to all Moslems world over.

Does the Saudi’s authority follow the law to the letter? One needs to carefully assess how things are going on regarding the manner the Saudi monarchs acted on fellow Moslems who are not directly Saudi’s born coloured, that is of Saudi descendants -Saudi origin. Many people are of the view that segregation and the ugly racism have been going on over the years especially from the emergence of the prince who now acts as the King of Mecca. This man has brought many changes which negate the actual stands of the Moslem ummah.

And it is because of these changes that fellow Moslems especially blacks are victimized from all fronts. How come for God’s sake? Black people are segregated as if they are not human beings? Treatment like this should be done by people who are not from the same religion.

Truly, in 1960-1979 Saudi Arabian monarchs were very cordial wishing every Moslem to come and even welcomed to stay there without any molestation and segregation; black people were part of the development of our dear Saudi Arabia. The subsequent harassment might be the evil machinations of the non-Moslems countries whom the Saudi Monarchs embrace so dearly.

It is natural as we see today that Saudi Arabia is closer to the western world than to the sister African countries, if you see the unnecessary respect they Saudi authorities accord to the white people there! A Saudi policeman, no matter how high ranking, would bow to a person with American passport, you would see him shamelessly kissing his hand as if such a person is from heaven but his fellow Moslem is a slave to him and could be put in a dungeon even without tangible reasons.

There are over 10,000 black people in different prisons in Saudi Arabia being jailed for no reason than being black even when they are born and bred there. African countries should please express their displeasure over this ugly treatment by Saudi Arabia. Time is now or never.
