Reverse decision against us, Ekiti United beg NNL

The Nigeria National League has been urged to temper justice with mercy by reversing its earlier decision on Ekiti United FC who are battling hard to survive relegation.

The decision is part of the resolution of the club after its management and Board met at Ado-Ekiti to review its recent activities and performance of the club in the ongoing NNL.

The board also in its meeting frowned at the decision of the Nigeria National League, NNL for awarding three points and three goals to Ibom Youths FC without due process.

The board noted that NNL  should sanction Ibom Youths FC for leaving Ekiti State in the early hours of 23rd June, 2022 without honouring the match which was agreed by both clubs to be played same day at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado-Ekiti.

The board hereby called on the league body to as a matter of urgency reverse its decision of awarding three points three goals awarded to Ibom Youths FC by fixing a new date for the match to be played.

Also, the management and Board of the club  has suspended the secretary, Ayodeji Olowolafe for negligence of duty.

The board after an exhaustive meeting on Monday morning in Ado-Ekiti concluded that Mr Olowolafe should be suspended till the end of the 2021-22 Nigeria National League season as recommended by the five man panel constituted to unravel reasons why Ekiti United FC vs Ibom Youths FC match was botched on 22nd of June 2022.

According to the board, Mr Olowolafe as the club secretary was found guilty for failure to produce the team licenses for match day 18 game between Ekiti United FC vs Ibom Youth FC.

As a result of this, the board hereby suspends Mr. Ayodeji Olowolafe for the remainder of the League season.
