The Jigawa state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has
elected new executive officers to run the affairs of the association for the next
five years.
Reverend father Maurice Kalu emerged as the chairman scoring 63 votes even though he won the election unopposed.
Speaking while conducting the election, the assistant general secretary of the association, Reverend Uzoaku Juliana Williams, said the election of the association is normally done through nominations by local government representatives, wings and other stakeholders.
Others elected include Father Joseph Nunmi, vice chairman, Father Gideon Panus, secretary, Reverend David Ekwugha and Pastor Kade Alhamdu from CPFN\PFN church.
In his acceptance speech, Koli said he was honoured to lead the association and
serve Nigeria.
He pledged to carry leaders of blocks, wing representatives of the local government along since leadership belongs to God adding that the task ahead was enormous.
He promised to work diligently, honestly, and with the fear of God.
