House of Representatives has asked the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to carry out a thorough investigation into the gruesome murder of a 42-year-old Mrs. Eunice Elisha who was recently hacked to death in Kubwa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Late Mrs. Elisha was allegedly murdered by some yet-to-be identified assailants who were said to have been provoked by her early morning preaching.

Adopting a motion brought under matters of urgent public importance by a member, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, yesterday, the House after observing a minute silence in honour of the late wife of Redeemed pastor, Olawale Elisha, resolved to raise a delegation to commiserate with the deceased’s family.
The House further urged the FCT administration to demolish all shanties across the Territory where miscreants were said to be hiding, and from where they caused mayhem by attacking innocent citizens.
Kolawole, while moving the motion, told the House that the incident had caused ethnic tension in the FCT “because there have been claims that she was killed by extremists, while to others, the suspects may be miscreants.”
