Rep tasks youths on ICT-compliance

Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Buba Jubril, representing Lokoja /Koton-Karfe federal constituency, has charged youths in the country to increase their knowledge of the ICT to guarantee a better future for themselves.

Jubril, who gave the charge in Lokoja yesterday while declaring open a three-day training programme in ICT for 200 youths selected across the 21 wards in Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency in Kogi state, said most activities had become on line based across the globe, stressing that the need for youth to abreast themselves with the knowledge of ICT “cannot be overemphasised.”
The lawmaker, who was represented by his Personal Assistant, Mr. Moses Adoga, said the training was aimed at   preparing the participants for computer based tests and other computer related activities.

Jubril, who sponsored the programme, added that the participants were mostly students in senior secondary schools in the constituency to get them prepared for future academic challenges.
He charged the participants to take the training seriously and avoid being unruly to their trainers.
A Managing Partner of Telefonica Technology, Mr. Sulaiman Oyaremi, the consultancy firm handling the training said that the training will hold simultaneously in Lokoja and Koton Karfe, the headquarters of Kogi local government.
According to him, the trainees will be exposed to latest development in the world of ICT and commended Jibril for the initiative.
