Rangers to float women, U-13 teams soon – MD

The managing director of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, Barrister Amobe Ezeaku, has said the management had put measures in place to float the female team of the Club.

Ezeaku also said plans were underway for Rangers to float the Under- 13 team from where the team would groom young talents that would play for the main Club.

The Rangers boss disclosed this Friday at a media briefing with the sports writers on the return of Rangers’ home matches to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium which had been undergoing reconstruction for two years.

According to Ezeaku, they would have announced the unveiling of the Rangers female team, but had to postpone it “because of the return of the stadium” and also for the match coming up on December 28,2023, between Rangers and the Shooting Stars of Ibadan at the refurbished Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium.

Expressing joy that Rangers would be playing their home matches in Enugu again, Ezeaku said Rangers was not for Enugu alone, but a pride of the whole East.

“Rangers is not just a club, but a movement and we want everybody to be carried along.  We are happy that we are back,” he said.

The Rangers boss expressed great gratitude at the effort of Gov. Peter Mbah to ensure that Nnamdi Azikiwe returns to its former glory.

“Governor Mbah swore that Rangers must be back to Enugu and we are back.  We are grateful that we are back, but the stadium must not be desecrated. We want to let you know that the Cathedral is back and sanctified.”
