Ramadan: Yari distributes food items to 17,500 households in Zamfara 

 

Former Zamfara state governor and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, has launched the distribution of 358 trucks of foodstuffs he donated to the less priviledged across 14 local government areas of the state. 

A total of 17, 500 vulnerable households are to benefit from the gesture across the state.

The grains contained 358 trucks of assorted foodstuffs made up of rice, millet, sugar and maize for the people of the state regardless of political inclination.

Yari who spoke through the chairman, Yari Ramadan Package Distribution Committee, Sen. Tijjani Yahaya, during the event in Talata Mafara town, the headquarters of Talata Mafara local government, Monday, stated that the gesture was aimed at allowing the beneficiaries to begin the holy month with relative ease.

“Under the arrangement, 17,500 households in each of the 13 out of 14 local government areas of the state are to receive the said items while 22,500 households are targeted in Gusau local government areas,” he said. 

Sen. Yari urged wealthy individuals among Muslim faithful to use the month of Ramadan  to assist the less privileged within their localities to ease their hardship.
