PUWI empowers widows in Suleija


The Prime Unique Women Initiative (PUWI) has extend its support program to widows of Suleija Community, Niger state.


It’s President, Dr. Folake Yobah, yesterday, at the two day outreach program for widows in Suleija, said the organization is willing to empower women in Suleija and ensure they enjoy adequate support from the organization. 


Yobah said: “We intend to do quite a number of things in partnership with the Chairman of Suleja, we intend to empower women most especially widows in Suleja.


“After this food items outreach, We will be doing a free medical check up for these widows, we are ready to do things that will be difficult for people to forget, like making no woman go to bed hungry.


“Apart from trainings we want to empower widows, we dont just want to give them a fish but teach them how to fish.


Also speaking at the event was the Director of operations, Charles eloma, who said the outreach was part of the organization’s tradition to put a smile on people’s face  during the yultide season. 


“This outreach is part of our activity to end the year, we have a tradition  towards the end of the year, december precisely, last year we were in fct where we conducted a medical outreach.


“Here in Suleja this year, we have selected the widows, the poor hiest of the poor and put smiles on their faces so that they can know they have not been totally neglected, thats why you see that we have impacted 100 widows with food items”. He added.


A beneficiary at the event expressed her appreciation for the outreach program as she thanked the organization for reaching out to widows in Suleija.


“Thank you so much, we pray Almighty od will continue to bless you for all youve done today, may God continue to support you to do more”. She said.
