Police nab ‘kidnappers’ of clergyman, monarch

Kogi state police command yesterday paraded 5 suspects that specialize in kidnapping and robbery along Okene -Lokoja and Oworo land.
The police said that the suspects were responsible for the recent abduction of Rev.Leo Michael and Usman Adoga, the traditional ruler of Jakura community in Lokoja local government area.
Parading the armed bandits in Lokoja at the police headquarters, the state commissioner of police, CP Ali Janga said the suspects were arrested at various locations in the state as a result of intelligent report.
According to him, one of the hoodlums, Ibrahim Musa that was part of the gang that abducted the clergyman at Irepeni village along Lokoja -Okene road and the traditional ruler of Jakura, Chief Adoga was arrested , assuring that the command will use all available means to track other suspects connected with that incidents.
Janga disclosed that the sum of N240, 000 was collected from one of the suspects, Musa and appealed to members of the public to always avail the command of useful information that can help the police deal with any act of criminality in the state.
Musa Shuaibu, confessed to taking part in the said kidnapping operation, saying that one of the gang members, Shagari shot and killed the son of the traditional ruler in one of their dreaded operations along the area.
Shuaibu who hailed from Niger state said he has been into kidnapping and robbery business for over five years, adding that he relocated to Kogi state with others to continue making money from banditry activities.
