President Muhammadu Buhari is presided over the meeting of National Council of State at the State House in Abuja.

Blueprint learnt that the meeting was convened to discuss national issues including fuel and new Naira notes scarcity, insecurity and the forthcoming general elections. 

Former Heads of State General Yakubu Gowon (retd) and General Abdulsalami Abubakar as well as former President Goodluck Jonathan are among those attending the meeting while former President Olusegun Obasanjo joined online.

Those physically attending the meting are the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate Mr Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representative Mr Femi Gbajabiamila, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr Boss Mustapha, Head of Civil Service of the Federation (HOCSF) Mrs Folashade Yemi-Esan, Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Mr Abubakar Malami, and the former Chief Justices of the Federation Mr Alfa Belgore and Mahmud Muhammad.

Governors physically present at the meeting are Dairu Isiaku of Taraba state, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state, Babagana Zulum of Borno state, Inuawa Yahaya of Gombe state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state and Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of Kwara state as well as the Deputy Governor of Bauchi state Mr Baba Talla.

Governors Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state, Abubakar Bagudu of Kebbi state, Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau state, David Umahi, of Ebonyi state, Yahaya Bello of Kogi state,

Ademola Adeleke Osun state, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa state and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state as well as the Deputy Governors of Benue, Nasarawa and Enugu states are attending virtually.

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu; Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele; the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba; Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Hammed Audi, would make presentation at the meeting.
