PDP Reps candidate Ajia advocates Egypt-model security for Nigeria

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Asa /Ilorin West federal constituency, Alhaji Ibrahim Ajia, Wednesday, advocated a replication of security model adopted by the Egyptian government to tackle insecurity in Nigeria.

Ajia, a retired police officer, explained that the model would entail amongst other components, recruitment of more under-cover security agents across the country to strengthen intelligence gathering.

The House of Representatives hopeful, however, maintained that “without improvement in the level of literacy and poverty alleviation, the security measures put in place will be exercise in futility”.

These ,he said, he would achieve if elected by sponsoring different bills that will restructure Nigeria’s security architecture; and  also stimulate economic activities through improved productivity  for the people of his constituency and Nigerians as a whole if elected come February  25.

The PDP candidate made the declaration in Ilorin while fielding questions from reporters at the unveiling of his agenda: ‘Offer to Serve’.

Going down memory lane on how he grew up hawking Amala (yam flour swallow) for his mother on the streets of Ilorin, Ajia promised to promote legislation and facilitate projects that will secure a prospective future and generations to come.

The unveiling was attended by the members of the Metro men, Abuja led by Alhaji Saifullahi Babangida, who donatedN20 million to support his campaign while another ally of the candidate announced N30million donation to support the campaign.

Director General PDP Campaign Council and state chairman of the party, Professor Ali Ahmed and Alhaji Babatunde Mohammed, respectively, urged the people of the state to vote Ajia and all the party’s candidates, assuring them of better days ahead.
