Over 200 PDP Stalwarts decamp to APGA in Anambra

Over 200 People’s Democratic Party (PDP), stalwart in Anaocha Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra state, Thursday, dumped the party to the state ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The former President General, Nri ancient kingdom, Chief Frank Obiekwe Oraeki, who led the decampees to obtain their APGA membership cards, said their mass exodus marked an end to existence of PDP in the council area.
Anaocha, one of the LGA with highest numbers of voters and 20 electoral wards, is home to the former Vice Presidential candidate of PDP, Mr Peter Obi, Senator Uche Ekwunife of Anambra Central, and the APGA presidential aspirant Prof. Peter Umeadi.

“As a strong political war horse for PDP, my entrance to APGA has signalled an end to PDP and other political parties in Anaocha LGA. Henceforth, APGA shall be recording a landslide victory in all elections. I did not come alone. I am joining APGA with my family, friends and political allies.
“We have come to join force with others to deliver good governance in the council area. We are ever prepared to deliver our brother and Presidential candidate of APGA, Prof. Peter Umeadi. We have come because we realised that APGA is the only political party poised to help Igbo nation produce the next President of Nigeria,” Oraeki stated.

In their separate speeches, the chairmen of Nri ward one and ward two, Mr Augustine Igwebuike and chief Christopher Nwako assured the new entrants of equal treatment in their new party.

On his part, the Anambra state House of Assembly member for Anaocha One constituency, Mr Ejike Okechukwu, said APGA was a formidable force to reckon with, being the third largest political party in Nigeria, and urged the people to join the clamour for South East to produce the next president of Nigeria, by supporting the presidential bid of their illustrious son, Prof Peter Umeadi.

In his remarks, the APGA presidential aspirant, Prof. Peter Umeadi, urged ndigbo to support APGA as the surest vehicle that would take a south-easterner to the presidency, come 2023
