Osun governor, monarch mourn Akeredolu

Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi, have commiserated with the people of Ondo state over the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu SAN.

A statement by Governor Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said Akeredolu’s death is a huge national loss because he made great contributions to Nigeria in the legal field and public service.

“Arakunrin Akeredolu was one of the finest minds in the country’s legal profession, and as a colleague in the Governor’s Forum, his wise counsel and constructive contributions are hard to miss. Nigeria lost one of its finest, and I’m hugely shaken,” Adeleke said.

Also, in a statement by his press secretary, Oba Abdurosheed described the death of Akeredolu as a colossal loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the good people of Ondo and the Yoruba race by extension.

“The role he played in securing Yorubaland cannot be forgotten. He was a nationalist. You are a champion. History will continue to be kind to you,” Oluwo said.
