NTDC attracts $100m investment to FCT

Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has attracted $100 million worth of investment to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The investment, which  targets nine months before  completion, would use pre-fabrication technology in creating about  25,000 jobs for the youths of FCT.
According to the Director General of the corporation, Mrs Sally Mbanefo, the job creation would come from converting waste to bio-fuels and would assist in generating electricity and boosting tourism in the city

Mbanefo said this yesterday during an interactive session with the Minister of State for FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide, as they discussed possible areas of collaboration between the corporation and the FCT administration.

According to the DG, the Green City being proposed by the Federal Capital Territory Administration would have joint group from FCTA and NTDC to ensure that it is a success, and form a link of the project to the centenary village.
The Green City would have botanical gardens, hotels and recreational  facilities functional cyber  cafe which would boost job creation by 25,000.
In her remarks, Akinjide said that the collaboration is targeted at building a tourism boost for Abuja beyond the perception that Abuja is mainly a conference city.

She assured that a contact group to be coordinated by the Social Development Secretariat of the ministry would be set up to coordinate the further collaboration between the corporation and the FCT.
