NSIP: FG gives fresh update, reveals batch C stream 2 beneficiaries

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has trained 7,000 beneficiaries in the Batch C Stream 2 of the N-Knowledge programme in the six geo-political zones of the country under the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP).

Speaking Thursday in Abuja at the closing ceremony of the training for beneficiaries from North-central, held at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), the minister, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq, represented by the permanent secretary, Dr Nasiru Sani-Gwarzo, said  the training was a clear demonstration of the ministry’s commitment to collectively address youth unemployment, in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s deliberate efforts to empower Nigerian youth and  reduce poverty in Nigeria.

She said: “Since the inception of President Buhari’s administration in 2015, the federal government has sustained its efforts to ensure that the poor and vulnerable are included in all social programmes to reduce poverty.

“The N- Knowledge programme is a three month in-camp and six month apprenticeship training programme that is designed to build competencies and capacity in highly demanding technical and vocational skills in the: N-Tech Software and N-Tech Hardware programmes.

“It is worthy to note that, the federal government has made an investment in each of these trainees in the above listed trades by acquiring and providing for each of them the required tool kits to enable them become and operate as skilled professional technicians.”
