NNL board, APFON, SWAN sympathise with Spotlights’ boss

The board of the Nigeria National League(NNL), the Association of Professional Footballers of Nigeria (APFON) and  the North West vice president of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) have sympathized with Kastina Spotlights FC over the involvement of their Coordinator, Ayuba Umar, in a ghastly motor accident in his Peugeot 406 car on Monday evening in Abuja.

Umar was coming from Minna, the Niger state capital after his team Spotlights clash against Niger Tornadoes when the accident occurred along   the Shehu Yar’Adua Way by the Federal Ministry of Works Headquarters, Mabushi.
Narrating his experience to Blueprint Sport, the Katsina football administrator said: “I was on my way from Minna to Abuja after our game in Minna on Sunday and had gotten into the city when the accident occurred opposite Zankli Hospital in Mabushi.

“I wanted to go to NNL office to formalize our registration process and do one or two official assignments for the club. It occurred around 6 pm. The car is a total write-off but I thank God I came out unhurt. I want to thank all those who have sympathized with me and the club and wish to tell our fans that this will not deter us in focusing on doing well and gaining promotion to the elite league at the end of the season.”

Dahiru Sadi, president of APFON, Ado Salisu, vice president Northwest of SWAN and the board of the NNL headed by Emeka Inyama in separate reactions expressed gratitude to God for sparing the life of the amiable coordinator who is working round the clock to ensure that the club get promotion to the elite league.
