NLO extends financial support to ailing former Kano Pillars coach, Alabi

Nationwide League One (NLO) has made financial contributions towards offsetting the medical bills of former Kano Pillars coach, Huseini Alabi.

The management of Nigeria’s third tier league last week Tuesday in Kano got the hint that the former Raccah Rovers skipper was schedule to undergo medical treatment, however was faced with financial constraints, NLO then intervened.

The NLO chief operating officer, COO, Shola Ogunnowo, had on behalf of the league made a cash donation that submerged the immediate medical needs of the sick football veteran.

Shola said, “In football our veterans are crucial in the family, I want to appeal to us, to always care for the veterans of the game.

“Huseini was a house hold name in his days at Raccah Rovers of Kano, I remembered how he captained Raccah Rovers of Kano against Pele of Brazil, when Fleminese of Brazil visited Nigeria.

“Husaini spent a good part of his life developing young players, at this stage he deserves all we can to help him.access good health care services.”

The Secretary, Kano Ex -Footballers Association, Aliyu Kassim, thanked the league for coming to the aid of the veteran player.

He thanked all those that have contributed immensely towards the welfare of Alabi.

He said, “Baba Husaini showed the game love and we are also not tired of showing him love, the way and manner people respond to his matter, spiritually and financially is commendable, we though need more assistance to support his domestic and medical upkeep, may Allah replenish NLO abundantly for the kind gesture , we pray others to also emulate this big gesture. We should not continue to watch veterans of the game die in pains and regret.”
