Friends of Mr Henry Uwem-Umoh, popularly called Great Soul, in collaboration with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Abuja Council, will today hold a special ‘Night of Songs and Tributes’ for the late journalist.
The committee of friends and the union, in a press statement signed by the FCT Council Secretary, Hajiya Rafat Salami, said Mr Umoh, a seasoned journalist, died on the 24th of January 24, 2018.
The statement said the Night of Songs and Tribute for the late Uwen, who worked in different capacities in several media organisations including Daily Trust Newspapers and Leadership Newspapers, is scheduled to commence by 5pm at Nugget Hotel, Utako.
The Council secretary enjoined journalists in the FCT, friends and family of the veteran journalist to be at the special ‘Night of Songs and Tributes.’
According to the statement, “The Great Soul shall be remembered for being a thorough-breed journalist, who took the ethics of the profession seriously. A man through whom many journalists horned their professional expertise.”
Mr Umoh would be buried tomorrow, April 6, 2018, at the Gwarinpa cemetery, according to burial plans released by the family.
