Nigeria to host Alcohol Beverage Marketing Summit on October 23

The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) on yesterday said that it would host the third edition of Alcohol Beverage Marketing Summit in Lagos on October 23.
Garba Kankarofi, the registrar of APCON, who disclosed this, said that APCON would collaborate with the International Centre for Alcohol Policies (ICAP) and the Beer Sectoral Group (BSG) to host the summit.
“The event will hold on October 23 in Lagos with the theme, ‘Responsible Alcohol Marketing’.
“It will also involve local and international participants to brainstorm on responsible consumption of alcohol,” Kankarofi said.

He said that local participants and international resource persons would dialogue on the strategic marketing skills of alcohol and responsible alcohol consumption.
Kankarofi said that Mr Brett Bivans, the Senior Vice-President of ICAP would attend the summit.
He also listed others as Mr Arthur Pober, Senior Fellow, Centre for Digital Future in the U.S. and Mr Tolu Ogunkoya and Mr Ade Akinde, an official and the Managing Director, Campaign Palace in Lagos, respectively.

“The forum will draw top government functionaries and dignitaries from across the alcohol beverage industry, advertising practitioners and general stakeholders.
“The organisation helps to reduce harmful drinking worldwide, encourages dialogue and pursue partnership involving the alcohol industry, government, the public and health community, “ Kankarofi said.
