Niger police arrest 3 transformer vandals

The Police in Niger state have arrested a three-man syndicate that specialised in vandalising transformers and stealing electrical installations in Minna.
The gang, according to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Niger state police Command, DSP Mohammed Abubakar, was smashed following tip-off.
He said the suspects were Asama Ibrahim (18), Simanu Ibrahim (20) and Gambo Dauda aged 16 years.
The PPRO explained that they met their waterloo after vandalizing transformers in MI Wushishi Housing Estate, Farm Centre, CKC road, Tunga and Peter Sarki road in Minna.
He said the gang was also vandalised a transformer located in Kolawole road in Tunga, adding that eight pieces of armored cables valued at N1.2 million were recovered from the vandals.
According to him, “the Commissioner of Police, Niger state Police Command, D.
P. Yakadi, has assured that the police under his leadership will continue to redouble efforts in the protection of lives and property in the state.” He urged the general public to volunteer “useful information to the police in their efforts to curb criminal activities in the state.”
