Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC Borno South) on Sunday applauded efforts of gallant troops in the North East Joint Task Force ‘Operation Hadin Kai’, men of the Civilian Joint Task Force, hunters, vigilantes and resilient people for repelling night attack by suspected members of the Boko Haram terrorists in Ngoshe community, Gwoza local government area of the state.

This attack, which claimed unspecified lives of insurgents without casualty from troops or civilians, is coming barely 24 hours after a lone female suicide bomber detonated her Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), killing 12 people and  dozens injured at a local food joint in Konduga local government area in Borno Central senatorial district.

Saturday, Ndume held a meeting with stakeholders, mostly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ashigashiya and Kirawa communities around the Manadara hills of Gwoza and Cameroun Republic.

The main agenda of the meeting was on how they would go back to their liberated communities.

In a press statement made available to our correspondent, Sunday in Maiduguri, Ndume commended Governor Babagana Zulum for his commitment in the fight against terrorism.

He expressed confidence in the troops at the frontline to repel renewed attacks, even as he urged all and sundry to support Nigerian security agencies in the fight against terrorism, banditry and kidnapping which have become order of the day across the country, especially Northern Nigeria.

While urging the military and other security agencies to intensify operations around the Manadara mountains which harbour quite a number of terrorists, the former chairman, Senate Committee on Army, also sympathised with victims of bomb blast in Konduga local government area last Saturday.

“Let me commend troops of ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ under the leadership of the new Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the acting GOC 7 Div, Brigadier General Ugochukwu Unachukwu and the Brigade Commander in Gwoza for their job well-done.

“My commendation also goes to the resilient people of Ngoshe for complementing efforts of the security agencies to repel Boko Haram attack in their community yesterday night,” he said.
