NEMA distributes relief materials to IDPs in Adamawa

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) North-east zone has distributed relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Adamawa state.
In a statement signed by the agency’s Information Officer, North-east zonal office, Alhaji Abdulkadiri Ibrahim, in Maiduguri at the weekend while handing over the materials to the Camps Central Coordinating Committee  at the NYSC Orientation camp in Yola; the Zonal Coordinator, North-east, Alhaji Mohammed Kanar. who was represented by the Senior Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, NEMA Headquarters, Alhaji Saidu , said the agency was impressed by the level of assistance and donations  by individuals and corporate entities.
He added that Kanar said the Director General of NEMA, Muhammad Sani-sidi, had earlier instructed the zonal office to ensure that measures were taken to ensure that the IDPs in the camps were comfortable.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the IDPs, the Permanent Secretary, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (ADSEMA), Alhaji Haruna Furo, appreciated the support of the federal government towards addressing the plight of the people in distress within the North East sub region.
He said the humanitarian intervention from NEMA would go a long way in easing the condition of the displaced people and their host communities.
The relief materials distributed to the camps in three trucks include rice, Maize, millets, mattresses, blankets, mosquito nets, sanitary items, detergents, and clothing for women and children.
