Nasarawa ministry seeks partnership with corporate organisations

 

The Nasarawa state commissioner for youths and sport development, Othman Bala Adam, Tuesday, stated the ministry’s readiness to partner with corporate organisations in the state to revamp the state’s sport sector.

The commissioner made this known in Lafia, when he paid a courtesy visit to the managers of Access Bank plc, Mtn, Glo and other corporate establishments in the state.

Adam said the purpose was geared towards heightening the overall development of the economy of the state and stop overdependence on government.

“This is not only for the development of the youth, but also geared towards heightening the overall development of the economy of our state and it will also promote healthy competition among our youth in the state,” he said.

He said the ministry is driven towards the private sector involvement do as to accelerate financial growth of the sports sector and engage idle youths in sporting activities in the state.

He stated further that the initiative will also encourage the corporate organisations to honour their social corporate responsibilities through their support for sports development.

He said the partnership will go a long way to develop sports activities and get youth engaged.

Responding, Hajiya Maryam Umar, Branch Manager of Access Bank in Lafia, expressed gratitude for the visit and the partnership and pledged to transmit the ministry’s initiative to the management of the bank for action to be taken.
