NANS demands probe of NPHCDA on utilisation of COVID-19 funds

The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) have demanded the immediate probe of the National Primary Healthcare Agency (NPHCDA) over the utilisation of billions of naira meant to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

NANS National Vice President ( Special Duties), Comr. Odiahi Thomas Ikhinein a statement argued that the call was based on the realisation that critical segment of the society, including students were not catered for by the agency since the outbreak of the pandemic last year.

Particularly, NANS accused the authorities of excluding its members from the ongoing nationwide vaccination exercise against the corona virus pandemic stressing that the development speaks volume of the level of insensitivity to the wellbeing of students across the country.

“We are worried that despite the huge sum of money spent on vaccination and the large number the NPHCDA reals out as person vaccinated, no student has been vaccinated on any of our campuses. Our findings shows that the few Students that have been vaccinated are the previledged ones,” the statement said.
