The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Bagudu Atiku, has advised the retiring permanent secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Nebeolisa Anako, to be ready to explore the opportunities that awaited him in the new phase of his retirement.

The minister gave the advice Thursday at a send-forth ceremony for Engr. Anako, saying, “You have retired meritoriously after years of service to your father land. While it marks the end of a journey, it is also by the same fact the beginning of another journey.”

“I, therefore, encourage you highly. In your honour, we have joyfully come together to share in the celebration of your hard work and dedication, and to keep engaging you with things you love doing as well as strive for success. I guarantee you that more opportunities are already awaiting you.

“Let me say without hesitation that we are proud of you and indeed, count it a privilege to send you forth into the world out there as worthy ambassador of this ministry.”

In her goodwill message, the newly appointed head of the civil service of the federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack, said the Ministry “provides the environment where people work together as colleagues and relate as a family.”

She congratulated Engr. Anako for working and retiring honourably with much strength, saying “you will reap whatever you put in while in service.”

In his response, Anako appreciated the staff for their cooperation, noting that civil servante were normally required to retire from service upon attainment of the prescribed normal retirement age.

“This policy helps to inject new blood to the civil service and maintain career aspiration for younger officers. Thank you for this opportunity to serve you; it’s been a rewarding chapter in my retirement journey,” he said.”
