Former president of the National Association of Kogi state Students, (NAKOSS), Suleiman Mazai Farouq, has commended Governor Yahaya Bello for the choice of his Chief of staff, Chief Edward Onoja, as his running mate, saying that his choice was strategic.
Addressing journalists in Lokoja Monday, Farouq, said picking Onoja is a masterstroke that will guarantee victory for the APC and Governor Bello in the November 16, governorship election
Also, he lauded the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), for their foresight in choosing Onoja as the party’s deputy governorship candidate, noting that his choice will add value to the campaign.
Further, Farouq stated that Onoja has been committed to the development of the state and his senatorial district, adding that he was equally loyal to the New Direction Agenda of the present administration.
He maintained that the duo of Bello and Onoja as governor and deputy respectively, would bring accelerated growth and development to the state.
Farouq, who is also the immediate past chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria, (NYCN) and Project Coordinator Kogi In Safe Hand Project, said listed the several projects executed by Governor Yahaya Bello in his first term to include; the multi-billion naira Ejigba Rice Mill which he said will generate over five thousand jobs for the unemployed youths of kogi state.
According to him, others includes construction of new roads and rehabilitation of existing ones across the state, qualitative healthcare delivery, investment in education, and the provision of other critical infrastructures.
He said that the most important of Governor Bello’s achievements in his first tenure is in the area of security of lives and property of citizens, which he said is the first primary assignment of and responsible government.
He called on the people of the state particularly the youths to vote massively for governor Bello for a second term for sustainable development of the state.
