Medicaid Cancer Foundation is to hold series of activities this year to mark the annual cancer day themed “Kick and Walkway Cancer.”
In a statement, the Founder of the organisation and wife of Kebbi state Governor, Dr. Zainab Bagudu Shinkafi, said this year’s event comes up in Kebbi and Abuja, respectively, in October.
According to her, this year, the Foundation plans to have grand awareness walk in the morning and football tournament in the evening, featuring professional footballers and entertainment celebrities.
“MCF works with leading pharmaceutical companies to reduce the high cost of cancer treatment, which is a great burden on parents and the Nigeria health care system. We achieve this by accessing donor grants and organising fundraising events.
“I would want to assure you that this year’s event is coming up in October that involves an awareness walk against the dreaded cancer in Abuja and Kebbi, with a football tournament that features professional footballers and movie celebrities,” the statement read in part.
The statement added that this year’s fund-raiser consists of one-million-man awareness walk in Birnin Kebbi on the 10th of October while the football tournament holds on October 21, 2017.
