Home based-Super Eagles late call-up Suraj Ayeleso is most likely to be picked for CHAN 2018 ahead of Enyimba veteran goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai. Ayeleso from Nasarawa United posted the highest clean sheets – 15 – this past NPFL season.
He was handed a late call-up after former Kano Pillars star Afelokhai failed to impress in the NPFL Invitational Tournament against MFM FC in Kano. MFM FC scored twice against the home-based Super Eagles with Afelokhai, who accounted for 11 clean sheets last term, partly to blame for the goals.
CHAN Eagles will pick a final 23-man squad for next month’s tournament in Morocco and goalkeepers Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Ajiboye are already assured of their places, while Ayeleso will now be likely picked ahead of Afelokhai an impeccable source disclosed from the Eagles camp in Abuja
