Local equity market gains N70bn

The local equity market Monday closed in a positive note, appreciating by N70 billion.

Market capitalisation of listed appreciated by 0.18 per cent to N39.218 trillion from N39.148 trillion it closed on Friday.

The NSE All Share Index also increased by 128.17 basis points to 71669.91 points from 71541.74 points traded on Friday.

An analysis of the investment during the day showed that SFS REITs led gainers table in percentage terms, gaining 9.98 per cent to close at N101.35 per share, Ecobank Transnational Corporation followed with a gain of 9.88 per cent to close at N22.80 per unit, Deap Capital gained 9.84 per cent to close at N0.67 per unit, SCOA Plc added 9.63 per cent to close at N1.48 per unit, Infinity Savings gained 9.60 per cent to close at N1.94 per share.

On the contrary, RTBriscoe topped losers chart in percentage terms, declining 9.68 per cent to close at N0.56 per share, NSLTech and NEM Insurance trailed with a loss of 9.33 per cent each to close at N0.68 and N5.35 per unit Respectively, Northern Nigeria Flour Mills fell by 8.44 per cent to close at N35.25 per unit, UPDC REIT dipped by 8.00 per cent to close at N4.60 per share.

Volume of activities for the day declined by 128.519 million , representing 25.50 per cent as investors traded 375.321 million shares valued at N3.853 billion in 7011 deals against 503.840 million shares cost N7.208 billion in 5747 deals.
